About me
Aye there, I am Debparna. I am a product focused developer and designer with entrepreneurial aspirations. In the past I have interned at Ripcord as a Kleiner Perkins Engineering Fellow, Tesla, Delphi Automotive and Giving Garden.
I am currently a rising senior at the University of California, Davis studying computer science with a concentration in design. In college, I founded an organization called Dèsignare to bring together engineers and designers and was involved with other orgs in leadership positions, some of them including StartupHub, HackDavis TEDxUCDAVIS and Davis women in computer science. I love gaining skills outside of school through MOOCs and hackathons and have been able to teach myself web development, UX Design, product design principals, data visualization and deep learning.
I can be described as creative , as I am constantly looking for new market segments and product ideas. scrappy, Hacker mindset, I am a hackathon enthusiast and have attended 15 so far. understanding, human-centered design processes have taught me the power of user empathy and team collaboration. data-driven, I use data science and programming skills to collect data, research and then make decisions. entrepreneurial, always thinking of venture ideas and side projects.
My Goals: I want to become a master problem solver who will use design to create future products in an age where artificial intelligence is redefining products and needs. This will be possible by becoming very good at understanding user's needs, understanding business constaints, leveraging engineering and creating innovative solutions.
In my free time: I like going to concerts and festivals, exploring new cities and going scuba-diving. I also like to write on medium and take photos with my DSLR.
